Preparing for Zend Php5 Certification

Folks,
As I am getting so many emails about Zend Php5 Certification and its preparation, I thought of creating a Blog so that I could share the info and could forward the links in reply of emails.

The Zend Certification mainly focuses on the basics of Php. As you know the test covers 12 topics. PHP Basics, XML and Web Services, Functions, Arrays, Object Oriented Programming, Streams/Network Programming, Design and Theory, PHP 4/5 Differences, Security, Strings and Patterns, Databases and SQL, Web Features. Concentrate your study on these topics.

Download Php manual and learn the basics of each topic thoroughly from the manual. Read the study material once or twice for final preparation.You could also expect question related php.ini settings, configuration, debugging, MySql(i) functions, PDO. In addition to Php you should be aware of HTML, Form, Mime types, XML, DTD, XSLT, xPath, web & security, etc. Do some online practice test if available.

At the exam center, Take a deep breath and start answering. Methought we have enough time to complete the test. If any doubt or difficulty mark the question for review so that you could do it at the end.

I am not remembering exactly, Pearson VUE (or may be somebody else) says some trail is available for first few minutes. But for me there was no trail. The exam started directly. So don’t hope for any trail at the exam center.
